"Eyes red. Body colour medium beige, gradually shaded over saddle and hind quarters, merging gradually with body colour and being darkest at the tail root. The belly should be as near as possible in colour and shading. Seal points (dark sepia) shall be present in the muzzle, ears, feet, tail and tail root. There should not be a definite or distinct line of demarcation but rather harmonious balance between body colour, shading and points. There should not be any blotches, streaks or white hairs."

SG Siamese Seal Point ut doe Quilt Phobia Siameses are often plagued with molt patches, stripes and lines. While these molt marks are the norm for a ssp mouse in molt, a good Siamese should be of uniform colouring outside molts. Mice that stay patchy should not be bred from, as the tendency towards molting seems to be inherited strongly. |
Siamese Seal Point is the black based form of Siamese mouse - genetically a black mouse with two himalayan genes (a/a ch/ch).
Siamese Seal Point can be bred by mating Seal Point to a Black carrying himalayan gene. If there are very good Siamese Seal Point mice available, they can be bred together. Chocolate should not be used as an outcross. Chocolate Point isn't a standardized form of Siamese and looks light and dull compared to Seal Points.
Siamese Seal Point mice are uniform Beige in colour when young. Later on their body colour gets lighter and the points darker.
Common faults with Siamese Seal Point mice are light or white belly, white tail tip and uneven coloring. Foot points are the hardest ones to breed right. Using self Blacks with good foot points help with this problem.
Uneven coloring becomes more apparent with age due to molts. It is also said that the colour of the parents affect more the colour of the points than the colour of the body.
The extreme non agouti gene ae produces very excellent looking, dark Siamese Seal Points.
